With so many people trying to stop smoking, the idea of quitting being just an injection away seems like an extremely practical solution to a much dreaded process. But what is this stop smoking shot that reputedly has the ability to make you quit smoking with a few injections? How does it work, and to what level is it just myth? Here are some answers to these questions and more:
For starters, where does the effectiveness of this stop smoking shot come from? Cigarette smoke contains many substances, amongst which, nicotine, which is the cause for smoking addictions. Studies show that nicotine is even more addictive than opium. The stop smoking injection has nicotine receptor blockers in its composition (atropine and scopolamine, also used in many other medical treatments), therefore, the way in which this shot works is by preventing your brain from recognizing nicotine when you are smoking. But using the stop smoking shot isn’t as easy as snapping one’s fingers. You must realize that the stop smoking shot is just part of a treatment plan that includes testing and counseling to help you deal with the smoking habit.
The treatment is as follows: first of all, a series of tests are conducted to determine your good health and your ability to withstand the treatment, then, the three stop smoking shots are administered, the first one in the arm or hip and the other two behind your ear. After the finalization of the injection treatment, taking a two week follow up pill treatment is required, as well as the wearing of a patch behind your ear for the same interval. These treatments are coupled with counseling that will help you deal with your smoking habit, because while the shot helps the recovery process, the most important element of kicking any sort of addiction is your will to do so.
This treatment is usually undergone in specialized clinics and the costs range between $300 and $600 depending on the clinic, but the good news is that most insurance companies will cover a good part of the costs. The side effects of the stop smoking shot consist of drowsiness, confusion, dry mouth and a difficulty urinating and are normal because of the nature of the substances contained in the stop smoking shot. Any side effects are, however, transitory.
Studies have shown an up to 80% success rate of the stop smoking injection, though criticism has been received for the fact that it’s a short term success and that a new treatment session is required a few months later in order to maintain these results. Of course, not unlike any new treatment on the market, there are those who have shown skepticism as to its effectiveness and those that claim it has not worked for them.
As with any potential treatment plan, the stop smoking shot has its pros and cons and should only be undergone after careful consideration, and after fully understanding what it entails and accepting the potential side effects. Please consult your doctor if you wish to consider using stop smoking injections to quit smoking. Alternatively, here is a list of effective quit smoking aids that cost much less than injections, which you are encouraged to check out.

I quit smoking using this treatment. I couldn’t believe that it actually worked! I have since, started smoking again but can’t find a clinic or dr to have treatment again. But you should at least give this a try, it was effortless. No withdrawls, no cravings, it was amazing!

Taking on an allotment plot is a exhilarating experience, but to the novice gardener it may seem like a daunting task After waiting for many months or even years, you get the phone call you didn’t imagine you’d receive; in fact you probably forgot it was coming. You have reached the top of the waiting list and that you are now eligible for a plot. you are now 30 years older, do you realy want it now
